I know this because scraping (albeit ethically) is my specialization and I have yet to see even multi-billion dollar companies figure out a reliable way to stop it. Even Google's completely absurd and over-the-top TCP fingerprinting (which requires a level of infrastructure control that fedi instances do not have) can't stop it fully.
