Nederlands and Germany both basically call Germans ‘Dutch’
But English calls Nederlands ‘Dutch’ and Germans ‘German’
???????
Nederlands and Germany both basically call Nederlands ‘Nederlands’, too!
But it’s not like Deutsch is more reasonable than English, cuz their word for fries is the French word for ‘apple’ (pomme)!!!!
And I’m assuming they call their fries ‘pomme’s as a short of ‘pomme de terre’ (potato, lit. ‘apple of the earth’), which is also horrible and why I strongly support Quebéc’s decision to call them a ‘patate’.

@naln1 That is getting dangerously close to the friet vs. patat discourse in NL :p

@joepie91 Wait, how the hell did Nederlands get “patat”? Did they look at Deutsch’s misappropriation of ‘pomme’, feel left out, and then look at Quebéc and go “Ja, we noemen die 'patat’.”?!
