i actually find law and legal theory really interesting but i dont wanna like properly learn it, but being able to parse and interpret law and court rulings is kinda neat ngl
it's also just useful to be informed about laws surrounding the space you're doing activism in, for your own safety and that of others
i like knowing about laws that let me fuck over authority figures and corporations

@maia One of my favourites in NL is the mandatory ID law, which precisely zero cops actually know the contents of, and it's always really funny to watch a cloud come over their face as I recite the contents to them and they realize that shit, I actually know my rights, and they don't know the law well enough to refute it
@maia Usually followed by 30 minutes of empty threats to arrest me but never actually doing so, because I have *technically* offered to show them my ID, I just didn't have it on me so they'd have to come along to my house, and that technically satisfies my obligation under the law
... with eventually a resigned sigh, going "fine, just tell me your name then"
