another reason self-hosting sucks compared to community-hosting, is if there is some bug, you need to find it and fix it (as opposed to the group becoming aware and responding)

(something something update broke ipv6 silently broke e-mail sending via smtp relay... not how I wanted to find out)

@notplants Well, having a group is not magic and someone still has to fix the bug and figure out why it happened. But having more users than just one person helps a lot, I think. And of course, having multiple people working on hosting it helps a ton.

@forestjohnson yup I didn't mean it would make all bugs go away -- but in particular was reflecting that with self-hosting you are not only alone in fixing it, but also in noticing that something is broken

ie community hosting and/or having more users as something like amortizing the cost of both discovery and resolution of bugs
