i was idly wondering about combining a jaw/vertigo camera zoom with a long exposure photo and apparently it's actually thing that can give really cool results
it's just the zoom part though, no movement.
really still want to make a simple diy slider+focus pull rig
undecided if it should be a rail system or more like an rc car
maybe like an actual train would work well, with simple to assemble track and a camera platform that rides along it
i have two decently sized stepper motors from a small penplotter project i never finished, would probably want to find something a bit more compact for focus/zoom pulling though
would also be fun to do some more functional cad again, and 3dprint some parts
@f0x zoom + long exposure makes light trails. adding the dolly might keep the center more in focus and make a more interesting effect.
