At some point I wanna dig out my pi zero w and try running gotosocial on it...............

I know it works on ARM64, so running on 32 bit ARM shouldn't be an issue. Then it's just a matter of seeing what the performance is like running off an SD card.

@dumpsterqueer in which case backups become even more important because sd cards really weren't made for pi operation and can get flaky at any moment, even moreso with possibly unstable power

@dumpsterqueer now that I think of it, it would be pretty cool if clients kept regular exports of follower/following/blocks/mutes, and presented them to you when it fails to connect to the instance

@dumpsterqueer yeah, like a last resort if the instance doesn't come back at all for whatever reason (shit happens).

It's good to do these manual exports but I'm sure everyone forgets, and remembering to do this is exactly what computers can do so well..

@f0x that's true! Maybe it would also be cool if the server could be configured to push automatic backups of an account's data into an S3 bucket, configurable by the account owner, using some key for encryption 🤔 hmmmm
