what does mastodon use to parse text statuses into html?
i'm looking through the code but looking through the mastodon source code gives me a fucking headache -_-
@dumpsterqueer What do you mean by parsing text into html? Do you mean like escaping `<` characters and that sort of thing? Do you mean scrubbing unwanted html tags like <em> that come in from other servers?
@vy not sanitizing, i've got that covered, i mean how does it take the input that i put into my 'write toot' box, and then parse it into an html document with hrefs and <p>s etc

@f0x @vy i don't think the client does though; before we added some basic parsing to GtS, text submitted via tusky or pinafore would just show up as unformatted plaintext
