and not just big channels, our hackerspace moved quickly and has now suddenly lost ChanServ registration, with old policy giving at least 90 days and only reclaiming channels when asked afaict

@f0x Okay, so mentioning LiberaChat will cause an immediate revocation of the official channel status. Now, what about writing a bot to send everyone a message when they're joining the channel. That should be fine according to their rules.

@f0x I feel like at this point, all channels on freenode should be assumed to be owned by a malicious entity that may not be affiliated with the channel's community

@f0x Yeah, I know a bunch of projects that got their channels deleted and taken over because of this.
This has happened to wikipedia, ubuntu, perl and many other channels now
