So my streaming site is up, it's sort of a twitch alternative I guess. Stream keys and pages need to be added manually, contact me on xmpp or fedi if you'd like to be added. As long as I know who you are and you seem trustworthy I'll add you.

The server is nginx-rtmp and an ircd, both of which have webclients in the page. The video stream and the ircd can both be connected to directly via the addresses on the top of the page.

I should probably stream something to 'inaugurate' the site but I'm not really in the mood. Maybe later.

@amy Cool stuff! Might set up something like that myself, does nginx help with caching your stream?

@f0x Thanks! No, caching is explicitly disabled for the stream itself. The nginx-rtmp module is just the easiest solution I found to stream. If you're interested in my setup, there's a link to a repo with my nginx config and the site files.

@amy wouldn't caching help a lot, if you only have limited upload bandwith from your streaming setup?

@f0x Hmmm, probably. The nginx-rtmp docs say to disable caching from the location serving the hls files and I honestly didn't look into it any further. I might play with it later.
