educating #FOSS enthusiasts is a full-time job...

matrix meta, responding to screenshot-dunking

@mathilde thanks for screenshot dunking but this is hardly productive...
Servers need to adhere to the matrix.org CoC as a baseline, and me and others look beyond that to try and keep the list as safe as possible.

re: matrix meta, responding to screenshot-dunking

@f0x @f0x anyway, the whole thing isn't about you, or the other mods, nor what you think, but about what sign you decide to put on your porch. what will draw a quick and efficient line about "who will feel welcome here" and "we don't tolerate harassment".

re: matrix meta, responding to screenshot-dunking

@mathilde I agree with that, saying you "need to educate FOSS nerds" is a very different thing though

re: matrix meta, responding to screenshot-dunking

@f0x oh sorry, you felt offended? if so i'm truly sorry, i wasn't thinking about you (you aren't even in the screenshot), but you must know that it's exhausting to do this (educating people) and i'm tired to do that on the fediverse. as i said before, it's not about you but all the people who keep saying stupid stuff to me (you should have seen my old account)

re: matrix meta, responding to screenshot-dunking

@mathilde well, I'm mentioned at the bottom of the screenshot, I am involved in this project (a bit), and consider these people as doing their best.

re: matrix meta, responding to screenshot-dunking

@mathilde I get that it can be super tiring to have to convince (FOSS or otherwise) techbros about the importance of these things, but imo that's not the case here, as from prior experience I know at least /dev/ponies is trying their best, for example in moderating matrix united
