IS-CTR-BOX obtained
the design is a bit different from the IS-TWL-DEBUGGER (and the box is much smaller): the ISTD has a full DSi system inside the box, the "handheld console" is a dumb display unit. Meanwhile, the ISCB has the 3DS system inside the handheld, and the box only contains the debugger.
Everything else is very similar though: same V850/Virtex-5/FX2 chipset, same kind of memories, and so on.
If anyone at #39C3 has any of the following, I could already start dumping some of the memories inside:
* TSSOP (0.65mm pitch) breakout PCB (for FX2 EEPROM)
* TSOP-I socket or breakout, and Xgecu T56/T76 (for V850 flash & Virtex-5 bitstream)
* Thin (>29 AWG) insulated or enamel wire
* Desolder braid & tweezers
* Right-angle pin headers
@pcy Any good prototypes on the unit?
@pcy Ahhh. Still, figuring out the debugger hardware sounds exciting!
@elfi Someone already installed FBI and GodMode9 on it, and dumped the NAND, so I don't think anything new is in there
The only unexamined parts here are the firmware for the V850 and Virtex-5 bitstream that implement the actual debug stuff, which is what I'll be reverse-engineering here.
