Thinking a lot about how a week after I signed the papers to have a place to live in WA state and started moving, a partner's employer went "You're expected to RFO immediately after moving" then presented a phone booth of a coworking rental space as their "Home office" that was 2.5hr up coast from where we were moving.

Because one person on the team that group worked with worked there. 100% of meetings would need to be Webex anyway. No actual team member was there.

I'd say it was absolutely constructive termination but they actually won that fight when they went upstairs with how stupid it was so who the hell knows.

Actually everyone involved in all of that was kind of a bitch except my employer. Mine practically pushed vee out the door to perma-remote.

People involved in the fiduciary stuff in the move though dropped on vee a day before signing that I needed an affidavit proving I would not lose my job for moving. Like "Wait this thing is moving 3 states away, are they keeping their job? Do you have proof of that??"

Then our old landlord ghosted us when we tried to deliver move-out notice and we found out they were probably running a housing scam and fled the country.

That sucked.
