#askFedi I have a vocabulary question related to business/supply chains: is there a term for an item that the seller does not keep in stock, but will only order from the manufacturer or wholesaler after a customer orders it?
This is not drop shipping: the seller orders the items to themselves and sends them on, rather than merely causing another business to ship it to the buyer directly.
