I wonder how often "normal people" install an OS from floppies (real or emulated or virtual)

because it seems to happen to me on about a weekly basis

It's been 30 years but I'm still mad at the punk who snuck SMARTDRV.EXE into the install process but fucked it up so that it's BEFORE the @ ECHO OFF line.

I probably don't need to install this newfangled "Flash" stuff. It'll never catch on.

I installed DOS 6.22, Windows 3.11 for Workgroups, patched SVGA drivers, Netscape Communicator 4.08, Video for Windows, and Trumpet Winsock 3.0.

and the system hangs permanently when you run Netscape Navigator. ahh, old computers.

interestingly Netscape Communicator 4.08 doesn't have an uninstaller: it has a deinstaller.

I INSTALLED THE WRONG VERSION OF WINDOWS

This is Windows 3.11, but not Windows for Workgroups 3.11

Yeah the Mastodon/Hometown layout REALLY isn't designed for tiny screens. And I'm kinda cheating here, I've got a virtual high-end graphics card, so this is 256 colors at 800x600!

@foone I was very impressed by how well it rendered, then I re-read the caption and realized I skimmed over the "edited" part at first :mario_flop:
