A question for maker types out there: Any thoughts on Cricut vs Silhouette vs similar style cutter devices? I’ve heard the Cricut software is locked in and… bad; but the actual hardware device seems to be generally better reviewed than the competitors. What says the hive mind?

@freakboy3742 I inherited my mother's silhouette cameo, and while the official software is kind of bonkers (can't import vector formats without a professional license), it does have plugins for Inkscape as an alternative that work pretty well
