@efi @AgathaSorceress@eldritch.cafe I'd say that would be in the context of american food, such as hot dogs are processed compared to e.g. bratwurst merely being ground, or how "mechanically-separated" chicken is reduced to a pink slime, and often loaded with preservatives to be as shelf-stable as possible at the same time

@elfi @AgathaSorceress while that may be a valid distinction, no, it does refer to ground beef and canned fish and anything that's been in a machine long enough to develop cancerous toxins, which is a surprisingly short time according to recent studies and that's why it's a concern
it's not asbestos, but it's still an avoidable risk
