No more trying to squeeze batteries into and route wires through tiny Gundams. No more worrying about changing fiddly little batteries that are burried inside a delicate model!
I thought this sounded familiar, and yup -- There was some buzz about wireless LEDs a few years ago, and at least three different companies have brought wireless LED systems to market.
The one linked above isn't actually out yet (but should be really soon). I found basically the same thing for sale already from another manufacturer but without the cool "scifi mecha hangar" aesthetic.
No idea if the LEDs from one brand will work with the base from another brand.

@bunny_jane looks like the unreleased ones have a lot greater range in exchange for a lot more bulk due to the larger coil. These are practically flat--a boon for small spaces like miniatures
