Twitch is quietly testing a new ad type that downscales the video and displays ads around it, destroying the vibe and design streamers have put work into for their layouts and possibly injecting noise and garish flashing/bright ads into streams.

They're billing it as "Less intrusive" but at no point in the copy do they note these will REPLACE standard full ad breaks so you know they won't.

They also state "Up to 8 per hour" so you know, every 7 minutes you get your stream altered, good.
