And what's up with halting but /not/ powering off? Is that so you can safely turn off the machine on systems that /don't/ support automatic power down?

@IceWolf Yeah, the old PC-AT spec is controlled only by a mains power switch, and a number of SBCs are powered on the moment they're connected to VCC.
