The weirdest thing about having an uninterrupted conversation with someone about our deepest desires for society where we totally agree for hours about everything until I reveal the "dark secret" that "yes, what you have been describing", which is where I almost always end up with strangers, is that that when I reveal that "...that's called anarchism", they often just immediately bolt, try to find their way out of being a democracy-extremist, upon suddenly finding that they are an anarchist.

The perceived social pressure of conformity is so strong.
It only takes a word.

Should it not be the actual meaning that matters, not the label?

@b9AcE i think there's more pressure for people who are comfortable in the "normal" roles society prescribes since they weren't ever forced to adapt to discrimination

@ckie Of course! Absolutely. I just find it very sad that the strength of a taboo word is so strong, when they themselves (in my experience) don't know the reason why.
