I'm looking for a new job in game development. I'm a software developer with experience working with artists and musicians. I can design and build systems, and can also do simple 3D+animations and music.
Any leads would be appreciated.

Google cancels plans to require Android application certification outside of the Play Store

Only a few months ago, Google announced it was going to require that all Android applications - even those installed outside of the Play Store - had to be verified. This led to a massive backlash, and it seems our protests and complaints have had effect:

The FCC keeps saying I have "bad vibes", but I won't let that stop me from wreaking complete and utter havoc on the local area's electromagnetic spectrum. Its just how I chill.

Torment Nexus opposes legislation which mandates regular disclosure of private user data and communications to government entities. Such data can be sold to the highest bidder, and so giving it away for free to the government is anti-competitive.

Chalmers has this lovely steamed machine dish but I think it exceptionally strange that they call Ouyas that up in Albany.

It’s November. I need to make sure I can at least get through the last grueling months of the year. I have a decent buffer to hold me at least for a week or two but bills still need to get paid and I still need to eat.

That’s pretty much it, unless something pops up.

The links are below, you can help me or boost to folks who can. just help a disabled boy get by 🫩

(I’m gonna have to change my stuff soon, as my move has been put on hold for about a year bc of landlord hand wringing)

@ka_so The Bean Vortex is the pocket dimension from which the contents of all the cans of baked beans come from (yes, baked beans are vegan, but they're not natural; they're supernatural). Heinz and other such companies keep the Bean Vortex guarded and secret prom the population, but you can access the Bean Vortex by accessing the series of tunnels that are underneath each and every single publicly owned building (think public schools, public hospitals, public utilities). I haven't managed to map the whole network of tunnels yet, and I fear it might be impossible to do so on my own given how expansive it is. Did you know most people already know of the tunnels but actively choose not to visit them or tell anyone that they have learned about them? It is true! Not everyone seems to know about the Bean Vortex though, it seems. I suppose it makes sense given that I am not sure if its a regional thing or if there are more vortexes under other cities. One thing that I can guarantee is being hidden by Big Bean is that Chile's main export isn't copper, or even our produce, but the beans from the Vortex. The Bean Vortex is located in Santiago, and I think it's located deep under Cerro Santa Lucía; you can get to the Vortex through tunnels that off-shoot off the line 1 metro tunnel near Santa Lucía station, but you got to be careful because some of the entrances are guarded by Heinz agents, and have to watch out for the trains themselves, obviously. Heinz agents are basically cops, so don't feel too bad about hurting them. The Vortex itself is found in what appears to be a very ornate 19th century ballroom. If it wasn't for the Vortex itself leaking beans and slurping them back up it would look almost normal, if you ignore the strong smell of baked beans. You really have to be careful near the Vortex, I've seen what happens to people that slip on the juice and get beanified and sucked into the Vortex. It's not pretty. The beans do taste like baked beans, so it's a good place to go to if you are hungry in the area. 🫘 🌀

@thufie I think it's good when a horse gets to find maxima or minima. it's enrichment

terminal of the future

Every time there is a new "terminal of the future" concept it is just "what if eshell was a fully-realized emacs feature" because nobody understands what eshell could be. And everything else is just already an emacs feature or package. It is amazing how good Emacs could be with sensible defaults not bound by tradition.

Anarchists and nonbinary folks of the fediverse, what do I need to know about Prague and/or Czechia/Czech Republic in general?
