Absolutely wild that just over the course of my lifetime so far, the share of income going to the bottom 50% of the US income distribution has dropped from 20% to 12%, while income going to the top 1% of the income distribution has risen from 11% to 20%.
In 2015 dollars, the average income per adult of the bottom 50% of the US has stayed $15K/year for more than 40 years, but the average income of the top 1% has increased from $400K to $1.3M/yr per adult.

Due to a distro packaging error any attempt to load WebGL content currently crashes my Firefox
So I'm playing "the WebGL is lava" with my browser today, and mostly losing so far

#FediAdmin question: I'm wanting to experiment with running my own fedi instance, but I'm not entirely certain what software I will end up settling on. The first thing I'll be trying is GoToSocial.
If I decide that GTS is not for me for whatever reason, and want to run something else on the same domain (that is, with the same hostname in the account address, not a different subdomain!), is it *possible* to change to a different software under the same hostname?
(Note that I don't care if it's "a lot of work" or "pretty tricky" to make that happen; just if it's *possible*, or whether there is some sort of AP implementation detail that would cause federation to break no matter what I do.)

Thinking back to the time that the other fascist broadcaster (powned) tried to get incriminating footage of our Occupy camp, growing visibly frustrated over the next 3 hours as they desperately tried (and failed) to collect incriminating footage and we just kept trolling their interviews because we'd done "how to deal with fascists" media training upfront
They ended up broadcasting like 20 seconds of generic footage, after even their attempt to break our tents failed and they gave up

Excellent, looks like I ended up in various of the Utrecht protest pictures over at the NOS, wearing a face mask...
This was a sort of tiny sub-goal of going there yesterday and being very visible, the media could do with more visible presence of facemasks... hopefully a tiny contribution to fighting the idea that COVID is "over"
